Please come and join us at the Open House at noon on March 12, 2011!

The theme of this exhibit is the Year of the Rabbit, which I believe will be a gracious and marvelous year to cherish. Some of the artists included in this exhibit include children of ages 4-12 who attend various art schools such as the Institute of Chinese Culture, the Tzu Chi Academy, the Fame Well School, and the Hua Xia Chinese School. The artworks displayed will be presented in four distinct categories: colored pencil, oil pastels, watercolors and air dried clay sculpture.

During the exhibit, there will be an art competition that consists of two groups, one from 4 to 7 years old and another 8 years old and up. There will be a first, second and third place award given in each category. In addition, one award for “The Best of Art” will be given.

The awards will be announced on March 12, 2011 at noon during the open house ceremony. Please mark your calendars for this special event and come join us!

Sulin Huang's early ambitions to become a professional artist began in Taipei, Taiwan. As a student attending Ming Chun College, she was awarded third place in the plum logo design competition, and upon graduating, won first place in the national carpet graphic design competition.

Her designing career began in Hawaii in 2002, where she started her own business creating air- dried clay works depicting various flora found throughout the United States as well as creating personal gifts such as toy dolls and figurines. Sulin has gained increased recognition during her career, from being a member of the Pacific Hand Craft Guild in Hawaii to hosting educational demonstrations regarding her craft in both Hawaii and Houston.

Sulin currently resides in Houston, Texas, continuing her artistic aspirations as a teacher for the Tzu-Chi Academy, where she demonstrates her unique craft to children of all ages. She is also an avid member of the Artists' Alliance as well as the Institute of Chinese Culture, Hua Xia Chinese School and Fame Well Montessori School.
