Nature Unique - Fire Fall 圖一:Yosemite Icon: shutter speed 1/250 sec., aperture value f/11, speed ratings ISO 100 camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM I photographed ‘Bright Horsetail Fall‘ in the late afternoon with strong lights behind the cantle of saddle. One of my favorite quotes is: “My first thought is always of light” by Galen Rowell, who made the Horsetail Fall famous with his photography of fire fall in 1973 圖二:Bright Horsetail Fall: 1/500 sec., f/8, ISO 320 camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM 圖二A: In February at Yosemite Valley, it is common that the sky is too cloudy to block the sunlight. When sunset approaches, I tilt my camera and photograph this ‘Dull Horsetail Fall’ on a cloudy day, creating an image that shows the horse’s head down, and that it is time to relax. As Ansel Adams quotes: “Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art”. 圖三:Dull Horsetail Fall: I/60 sec., f/7, ISO 800 camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM Tripod Gitzo GT1541T with Acratech ballhead
Fire fall only happens when water is sufficient to form a fall and when the light is available at the right time and right place. You might just see it if you are in Yosemite at the perfect time and location. 圖四:Dyed Pink Horsetail Fall: 1/20 sec., f/8, ISO 400 photograph on February 22, 2011, 5:45 PM camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM Tripod Gitzo GT1541T with Acratech ballhead (攝影作品與文稿由黃錦波提供) ( 回首頁 Houston eWIND ) | . |
