州政府頒建國一百年褒揚狀 Proclamation - Centennial Celebration of Republic of China

PROCLAMATION
COMMORATING THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF
FOUNDING OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA ON TAIWAN
WHEREAS, The Republic of China on Taiwan has distinguished itself in the free world with its dynamic progress in the fields of economics, education, industry, and democratic society; and Its citizens enjoy a prosperous life in a free society; and
WHEREAS, On October 10, 2011, proud Texans of Chinese decent will join their fellows across the country and around the world in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen’s successful against China’s Manchu Dynasty; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Sun was instrumental in China’s historical transition from a dynastic empire to a state founded on modern principles of political philosophy, and he remains one of preeminent figure of Chinese history; and is historically celebrated on October 10, 1911 was declared the Republic of China’s National Day; and
WHEREAS, On October 10 of every year, freedom-loving American Chinese in Texas and all Chinese decent citizens over the world will be celebrating this historical-marking period where, the year of 2011 for the very first time 100 years ago, after a long-fought revolution, a democratic republic political system saw its birth in the land of China that had known only monarchy for thousands of years; and
WHEREAS, here in the State of Texas, many coalitions over the state consist of individuals and organizations of local American Chinese, known as ROC-Taiwan Double Ten Centennial Celebration Committee, held an inaugural celebration event on January 1, 2011, to kickoff a yearlong celebration with many more colorful events and celebrations to come; and
WHEARAS, In commemorating this milestone in world history, celebrants honor not only a common Chinese heritage of incomparable richness but also the dedication to freedom that characterized Dr. Sun Yet-Sen’s principles, and it is indeed fitting at this time to honor all those who have fought in the name of freedom through the years; and
WHEARAS, The United States and Republic of China on Taiwan have in common the commitment to free markets, democracy and civil liberty and the desire to expand cooperation and mutual understanding; now, therefore
PROCLAIMED, That the House Representative of the State of Texas hereby encourage all Texans and all those associated with Centennial Celebration of Chinese Double Ten Celebration be extended best wishes for memorable events and for happiness in the years to come; and, be it further
PROCLAMINED, That a copy of this be prepared an expression of the highest regard and further extend gratitude for outstanding contributions of the Chinese American Communities to the state in Texas.
